Saddle Saga..

Well I found a saddle for Red.. did I mention that before? Found it on TackTrader which is a website for individuals selling anything from horse property, to horse trailers, to saddles, to halters etc.. A pretty popular site that is a spinoff from their horse advertising original site Dreamhorse.

Since I rode Red in Dereks Wide Tree saddle, that seemed to fit very well, I went in search of my own Wide Tree Tucker Saddle and found one in Colorado! I didnt really want to buy one out of state, but I went for it. With shipping it was $925, about the best price I could find anywhere online or locally for that saddle, so I jumped on it. The saddle looks great in pics, my concern is that I wont get what was pictured, or it will have a broken tree or a million other what-ifs!

So I sent off my money via Paypal and the next day as promised, she sent me a UPS tracking #, unfortunately there was a slight mix up and she shipped the saddle to my home instead of my work. See at work, the saddle guaranteed would be there by 10:30 which is our daily drop off time. Now that it is coming home, I have NO idea what time it will be there and considering we are heading out of town the day it is supposed to be at my house and I had wanted to take it out of town with me.. well it sucks!

Then I had the idea, maybe we can intercept the delivery and have it set up for Will Call in Everett on Friday instead of delivery to the house, so the seller of the saddle tried to do that and apparently if we did that, I wouldnt be able to pick up til Monday! What the Heck! I dont get it, so she canceled that option and now the UPS status says "exception" instead of "on time" and now I have no idea if it really will be out for delivery tomorrow. My gut told me not to worry about it and not try the intercept and I didnt listen, I just hope I dont pay for that when the saddle doesnt show up tomorrow. I should know in the morning, the status should say out for delivery if it's coming. Here's a pic of the Saddle in my saga...
